Flaxseed (<i>Linum usitatissimum</i>), Chamomile (<i>Matricariae flos</i>) and Marshmallow (<i>Althaea officinalis</i>) Mouth Rinses in the Therapy of Oral Mucosa Diseases – A Review

Background: Several pathological conditions of oral mucosa are an indication for the use mouth rinses. Objectives: The aim this paper is to indicate that herbal rinses seem be a good choice due their easy accessibility, low cost and simple handling. Methods: study was based on literature search three electronic databases clinical or systematic review published until January 2023 exploring selected products in treatment diseases. Results: A combination flaxseed, chamomile marshmallow can used prepare rinse which provides effective coating, anti-inflammatory antioxidant effect. It also recommended many such as xerostomia, lichen planus, burning syndrome others because relieve dryness, pain together with moistening lubricating Conclusions: Flaxseed, help reduce inflammation, promote healing coating being beneficial supplement daily hygiene procedures.
